Women in Tech is an annual conference celebrating diverse gender identities in tech, hosted at Tufts University.
As co-chair of the design committee for WIT’s ninth annual conference, I led a student committee in developing the visual language and branding of the conference. From designing WIT’s website to their merchandise, the design committee was responsible for developing all of WIT’s digital and printed materials.

Research & Early Concept
Above: General mood board, early website UI mood board
Our design vision for the conference was to balance futuristic cyberpunk motifs with vintage arcade elements. We chose a bright color scheme based on 1980’s arcade games and neon lights. In conceptualizing the WIT website design, we planned shapes and patterns that would blend organic and geometric qualities to create a sleek, futuristic atmosphere.
Branding Kit and Logo
After developing the conference theme, we established standards for our typography and color scheme. With a light-on-dark theme, we selected colors that would be bold and bright, inspired by neon signs and retro video games.
We also developed our logo, a Game Boy illustration with the WIT text displayed on the screen.
